Have you ever wanted a challenge in your cooking ? I ALWAYS wanted to try to make a tiramisu, this Italian dessert – and today was the day. I had to bring a dessert to some friends, had lady fingers and Voilà !
6 egg yolks
1 cup sugar
1 1/4 cup mascarpone cheese
1 3/4 cup heavy whipping cream
2 -12 oz packages Italian Lady fingers
1/2 cup cold espresso
1/4 cup coffee flavored Liquor (optional)
1 tbsp cocoa for dusting
7. Dip the lady fingers into the cold coffee enough to get them wet, do not soak them! I did not put any liquor in but if you did you would add it to the coffee at this stage.
8. Arrange the lady fingers in the bottom of a 8 inch square baking dish (or 6×9)
9. Spoon half the mascarpone cream filling over the lady fingers.
Repeat process with another layer.Refrigerate 4 hours or overnight.
10. Dust with cocoa before serving.
